Star Wars: Squadrons was officially announced on EA’s twitter following the leak with indication that the full reveal would be taking place later on. The newly released key art has a major Top Gun influence with one focusing on an X-wing and the other a TIE-fighter. The new artwork show their respective pilots entering the cockpits with the tagline PILOTS WANTED. Both images have an 80s aesthetic set in dusk with a sunset sky and a view of space in the background....

Today EA deployed an update for Star Wars Battlefront 2 that includes a number of favorable enhancements for players. The blog post that accompanies the update also makes it clear that these changes represent the initial first steps, with a lot more coming over the weeks and months. After a match ends, players will see an overall increase in the number of credits earned. While specific numbers weren’t provided, all players should see a decent increase in post-game rewards, though top players will receive an additional buff as well....

Naturally, gamers have been clamoring for additional details about Star Wars Battlefront and continue to spam EA, DICE, PlayStation, and Xbox executives with questions and requests on social media. One gaming executive, Xbox boss Phil Spencer, responded to a gamer’s question and confirmed on Twitter that Star Wars Battlefront will be available first on Xbox One, but only for those with EA Access. Ahead of release, discussion of the game has been dominated by questions of whether or not it will live up to prior installments. With well-loved elements like space battles being dropped, there was some concern during development that EA was content to have DICE produce a Star Wars themed Battlefield title. However, hands-on time with the game did a great deal to convince many skeptics that Battlefront had plenty to offer on its own terms....

While Star Wars Battlefront will certainly allow players to re-live numerous epic battles across a variety of planets in the Star Wars universe, one of the most recognizable locations from the movies will not be in Battlefront. Unfortunately, the planet-destroying Death Star will not be the setting of a multiplayer map in 2015’s Battlefront reboot. This news came from Reddit, as EA’s community manager hosted an AMA about the game, and received a question asking about the possibility of a Death Star multiplayer map....

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order introduced many characters to Star Wars lore. Cal’s crew on the Stinger Mantis ship was widely praised for being an eclectic bunch of characters, in particular, Greez. Greez is considered by many to bring heart and comic relief to the events of the story. While Fallen Order introduces several new characters, there are also cameos from established characters, such as Saw Gerrera and Darth Vader....

Star Citizen is setting crowdfunding records despite the game still not having a concrete release date set. One of the ways the game raises money is by sending out promo and marketing emails advertising from developer Cloud Imperium Games. However, Redditor Mazty, fed up with constant delays and alleged misinformation, reported the Gatac Railen ship promo email to the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority for a simple reason: the email did not mention the ship’s price or the fact that the ship “does not exist and might never exist” in the actual game....

Now dissatisfied backers may start seeing their investments returned after a recent backer of the hugely ambitious space simulator, Star Citizen, was successfully able to obtain a refund for his donation of a whopping $2550. The backer recently made public a series of emails between him, Star Citizen’s developer Cloud Emperium, and the California Attorney General’s office. The emails detail how the backer was able to obtain his refund on the grounds that, “the product remains unfulfilled and no longer constitutes the product(s) I originally purchased....

In a recent Roadmap Roundup post, the developer explained that, in 2020, the decision was made to add speculative content to the list of forthcoming updates and features, and every post on the roadmap was flagged with either a “committed” or “tentative” header. This was meant to communicate to the community that not every piece of content added to the roadmap was destined to debut in the game. However, after numerous tentative features were ultimately dropped, and, though director Chris Roberts maintained that the project wasn’t a “pipe dream,” backlash among Star Citizen fans grew, and Cloud Imperium Games made the decision to nix tentative content from the roadmap altogether....
