While the designs of some races are questionable, especially during the Original Series, they all vary enough to distinguish themselves from the others. They can look fairly similar, such as with the Romulans and the Vulcans, but the most important similarity that connects them is that most of them, especially in the early days, look humanoid in one way or another. The definition of Humanoid is to “resemble a human, or the shape of a human,” so the question arises: why, in a universe so vast and varied as the one present within the Star Trek franchise, do so many of the alien races, including humans, look the same?...

One of said games is Star Trek DAC, a top-down arcade space shooter where you can blow each other up in classic Federation vs. Romulan style warfare using your favorite ships of the franchise. That game, based on the new film, came to the Xbox 360 in May for the sole reason of chiming in on the hype of the movie (that’s the only reason it was made). Now, we know that it’s finally coming to the PC and PS3 this month....

The adventures of season one are best left for an in-depth season recap, as a lot of moral, political, and space trekking shenanigans took place. The year is vague, as all that is officially known about its invention was that it was used first aboard the Enterprise NX-01, the first of its name and the main vessel captained by Captain Johnathan Archer during Star Trek: Enterprise....

Before the Obi-Wan Kenobi series was announced, it was hard to imagine what it could even be about, considering the backstory fans were privy to. Or at least, the backstory the original trilogy had presented to fans, which wasn’t very detailed. And yet, that never stopped fans from asking. By the time Disney confirmed Ewan McGregor was indeed returning to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi, it almost felt like the internet had been preparing for the eventuality for years....

The fact that a movie as mindless and incoherent as The Rise of Skywalker can make more than $1 billion seems to prove that these fears are unwarranted, but Star Wars’ big-screen output could be doing a lot better than it currently is. There are so many important people, places, and governing bodies for fans to keep track of in the ever-expanding Star Wars universe. Even though the films, shows, video games, and more barely depict the Jedi Council directly, its actions among of the most important aspects of the narrative. Behind closed doors, the most powerful warriors in the galaxy made some of the toughest decisions, before war tore them apart....

When these characters take to the battlefield, victory is near. For their opposition, not for them. Granted, some may have their uses, and have made this list not for poor performance, but for not quite reaching the heights of the true heroes. Meanwhile, others on this list are a bit of a disaster. 10 Han Solo Han Solo barely makes it onto this list, and he isn’t here because he is useless in battle....

In a new video posted by Star Wars Battlefront 2 dataminer Uninspired Zebra, it’s possible to see the game’s currently-inaccessible menu screens that allow characters to switch between unlocked cosmetic items. As of right now, there are no such items in the game, but this new leak might reveal that customization options will be arriving in the near future. Although EA has shown very little interest in cosmetic items, there’s no denying that these special skins would be perfect for implementing into loot boxes, as they provide no actual advantage to players in-game....

Most notable would be the Clone troopers that the Republic used as its primary military force throughout the Clone Wars. While Star Wars TV shows like The Bad Batch have had Star Wars’ Clones as a focus their complicated story should be discussed in other narratives. Much of The Bad Batch focuses on the troopers of Clone Force 99 and how they’re able to survive during the Empire’s rise, but tackling the history of Clones in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 could provide a deeper way to look at their relationship with the rest of the galaxy....

For those that are getting a little tired of looking at Cal, modders have already begun with visual mods to change around the Jedi’s looks. There is even a couple mods to change Cal’s outfit, as while ponchos are nice and varied, there’s not much that can be done with the clothing underneath. Community manager EA_Charlemagne revealed the information, responding to a thread where fans were expressing their fears that the game wouldn’t be good if it used the Frostbite game engine. Luckily, for those concerned fans, the community manager confirmed that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be using Unreal Engine 4, not Frostbite. With this news, those concerned Star Wars fans should be able to breathe a sigh of relief. The suggestion that EA game development problems stem from Frostbite may not be an exaggeration with a report about Anthem’s troubled development revealing that the team struggled to tailor the engine to a big RPG....

After being given the greenlight from Apeiron, YouTuber MrMattyPlays was the first to show some gameplay footage from the Knights of the Old Republic remake, and his four minute video reveals some very interesting details about the upcoming game. It must be noted that the gameplay footage was taken from a very early pre-alpha build of the game, so it appears that it will be some time before development of the remake will be complete....

When Star Wars: The Bad Batch first premiered on May the 4th, it caught a large number of viewers off guard by introducing the first female clone of Jango Fett. The clone army, all created from the DNA of one bounty hunter, had been entirely comprised of men ever since its introduction in Star Wars: Episode II, so few ever expected such a development. The new clone, named Omega, is a young girl who ended up tagging along with Clone Force 99, the titular group of “different” clones, feeling a certain connection to them due to her own ingrained deviation from the norm....

The trademark for Payday: Crime War was filed by New Starbreeze Publishing AB mid-2021 in Sweden, adding to recent reporting that the mobile game’s development had been resumed. In April, earlier this year, Starbreeze confirmed that it was working with mobile game developer PopReach to get Payday: Crime War made. PopReach, the developer of War of Nations and Smurfs’ Village, then confirmed in July that it planned to soft launch Payday: Crime War....

Sharing to her TikTok account @swaze9089, the lead Starbucks barista showed five different facts about popular menu items, describing them as “things you might not have known.” “I just thought it would be a cool idea for a video and to educate people on Starbucks and coffee in general,” @swaze9089 told Newsweek. “The reaction is much more than I expected.” The information has impressed online, earning over two million views in just two weeks....

One exciting difference between StarCraft 2’s single-player campaign and the multiplayer is the ability to cheat like crazy. Obviously cheats are forbidden from online multiplayer matches and could get players into a lot of trouble, but the single-player side of Blizzard’s RTS is full of potential cheats to unlock and take advantage of. Even though many PC gamers probably completed the single-player stories ages ago, it’s well worth revisiting just to use some of these ridiculous cheats and take advantage of the system....

As one might expect, Stardew Valley players typically need to use water to fish. When casting their line, players can change the direction of their fishing line to a degree, but it should always land in a lake, pool, river, or other body of water.
