Squadrons is the spiritual descendant of Star Wars: X-Wing and the Rogue Squadron series. The former of those titles played like a flight-simulator in the vein of Elite: Dangerous, while the latter was more of an arcade shooter that toured players through some of the franchise’s best moments. With Squadrons, EA seeks to combine those two styles for a game that is easy for most players to approach, but difficult to get good at....
The game will follow members of the Galactic Empire — now crumbling after the loss of the Emperor — and the New Republic, both of which players will be able to create. Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge is set years after Return of the Jedi on the planet Batuu. Along the way, players meet C-3PO, R2-D2, and Jedi Master Yoda as they explore the planet....

When one plays an MMORPG expansion, one would expect at least 10 hours of story content to keep them busy. SWTOR players were shocked to find the story of Legacy of the Sith wrapped up in about 2 or 3 hours, and consisted of slightly lower-quality writing than what The Old Republic is known for. Eaton built a functioning replica of Disneyland’s popular Tomorrowland ride called Star Tours, and it looks so much like the real thing that you’ll swear you’ve stepped into the ride itself. The Star Tours ride’s starspeeder was constructed to look just like the one at Disneyland, with the same design patterns and even an R2-D2 poking up out of its roof....
