Boston's coach said that after the Montreal Canadiens eliminated his team with a 3-1 Game 7 win. The series, in its less ugly spots , had devolved into a sort of pissing match over whether the Bruins were overly mean to the Habs on the ice.
There was flexing, you see, and chest thumping, and water squirting, and Bruins players were to blame for all that. It's tough to get all that jammed up about it — yeah, theoretically Shawn Thornton could've screwed up P.K. Subban by spraying him with a Gatorade bottle during play, but that's also not a vicious upward shot to the testicles.
Speaking of vicious upward shots to the testicles , and the fact that the Bruins and Canadiens indeed hate each other, Milan Lucic said something dumb to Dale Weise in the handshake line. Those two had been messing with each other throughout the series — because the Bruins and Canadiens, again, hate each other.
Weise didn't get into what was said, exactly, and Lucic didn't either.
“That’s said on the ice so it’ll stay on the ice,” Lucic said, “so if he wants to be a baby about it, he can make it public.”
UPDATE: Lucic, predictably, said something along the lines of “I’ll f—— kill you next year.” Yep, it’ll have to be next year.
Lucic said whatever he said. Weise can react to that however he wants. That doesn't make him a baby; it's a rivalry. And whining about what you perceive to be whining is still whining.
Anyway, hey, it's Subban!
