Three of the schools who made the cut are proverbial heavyweights when it comes to the recruiting world. Duke, Kentucky and North Carolina all join the hometown Saint Louis Bilikens to form Tatum’s final four. While making it to this point is impressive for SLU, the Billikens shouldn’t be counted out yet, either. Both Tatum and his family have a good relationship with the staff in place and there’s a chance he would stay home and bring the program to another level.

As far as Duke, Kentucky, and UNC are considered, all three have Tatum at the top of their lists. It will be interesting to see how the impending UNC sanctions from their academic scandal ultimately affect the Tar Heels recruiting efforts. Duke has had him on campus to visit already and it’s clear that Tatum thinks highly of the program. Kentucky cannot be counted out either. John Calipari is the best recruiter in the country and you can be sure that he will have the full press on for the talented St. Louis native.
Tatum’s talents will be on display in Hampton, Va. this weekend as he plays with the St. Louis Eagles on the EYBL circuit. The Eagles are considered to be one of the frontrunners to win the league this year, thanks in large part to Tatum. It would be shocking if each of the staffs that made the cut weren’t front and center to watch the star wing perform all weekend.
