Frakes has talked at length about the differences between directing a show like Star Trek: Picard as compared to Star Trek: The Next Generation, making statements about how certain things simply don’t fly on television anymore. It is great to see Frakes returning to take yet another prominent role in Star Trek’s future, as he was been so influential for the series in the past. That said, it is currently unclear how many of the second season’s episodes he will be directing.
