Interestingly enough, this rumor stemmed from a review of the current Star Wars series, Andor. In the comment section of the review, one mysterious message alleged that the user’s husband worked on Andor and shared a few fun facts about the production. Namely, they mentioned that many of the props seen in the show are reused for the other Star Wars productions going on, including The Mandalorian and the upcoming Ahsoka. But the comment also included a pretty confident insinuation that Mark Hamill himself is involved with the latter.

“Proud wife: my hubby worked on this, making lands and space ships,” said user errordite under The Guardian’s Andor review. “Some fun facts- the ships and set behind Diego above are carved from foam. They’re reused from [The Mandalorian season 3] (Disney is very green you see) and then broken down and reused again for the next show. Which is Ahsoka, with Rosario Dawson (and Mark Hamill!). And if you want to know how Disney keeps churning these out at such a rapid rate, it’s because they make them all at the same time!” Looks like Ezra Bridger may not be Ahsoka’s only big guest character.

It would certainly make sense that Hamill would show up as Luke Skywalker again, particularly after appearing in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. In the latter, he’s even seen interacting with Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano, setting a precedent for the 2 Force-users to meet again. Several users in the Star Wars Leaks subreddit seem to agree, saying that Lucasfilm Executive Creative Director Dave Filoni has suggested as much.

Naturally, this is far from any sort of official confirmation. For one, it’s difficult to verify errordite’s identity, much less the validity of these claims. But unlike many instances where someone offers unsubstantiated rumors, this one is absolutely plausible. Ahsoka and Luke have met before and reusing props definitely sounds like something Disney and Lucasfilm would do.

On the other hand, it should still be taken with a grain of salt. Star Wars shows have always been decent at hiding their biggest surprises, and there’s no indication that this particular trend has changed. However, if this does turn out to be true, then it suggests that Luke’s presence won’t be Ahsoka’s most surprising twist. If nothing else, that should help keep those hype levels cruising.

Ahsoka is set to premiere on Disney Plus in 2023.
