Players looking to unwind a bit from the chaos of multiplayer now have a few new options including a single player campaign and a newly revamped arcade mode. Like most things in Star Wars Battlefront 2, credits are earned for almost anything and can be used to unlock new content from loot crates to heroes. For many players, Arcade mode can then be seen as an easy way to quickly earn in-game money to unlock new things faster. However, DICE has seemingly planned ahead for this occurrence.
Andrew Reiner, executive editor at Game Informer, posted a screenshot on Twitter, confirming that a credit restriction has been implemented within the Arcade mode. The screenshot displays a victory screen with a message that clearly states that the player now has to wait another 14 hours before more credits can be earned. For players that don’t want to hop back online, the only alternative would be to spend real money on microtransactions within the in-game store.
As these issues continue to compound the situation, developers have sadly started to receive death threats and personal attacks over the recent negativity surrounding the microtransactions of the game. The situation is getting so bad at this point that an official Ask Me Anything event is being held on Reddit, with the company most likely looking to save face and redeem the product in the eyes of consumers. EA has also been quick to take in player feedback as well, making changes to the loot box and hero pricing structure, so it’s likely the company will be looking for more details from a clearly angry community.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is now live for deluxe edition owners on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The standard edition launches November 17, 2017.
