As seen below in the fan made trailer for Star Wars Battlefront 2’s Assault on Theed, Angry Ewok managed to pay homage to the 2005 iteration of the title in a loving way by featuring some of the older Naboo map’s most notable areas. Not to mention, the YouTuber did a great job incorporating elements from the 2017 version of the game with the use of some mods, as the original didn’t have some characters such as Episode 7 – The Force Awakens’ Rey in the game.
There are lots of fantastic moments to be experienced in Angry Ewok’s rendition of the 2017 Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer, with one of them involving Darth Maul absolutely tearing it up against several clone soldiers in the Grand Army of the Republic. Plus, the YouTuber’s footage serves as a nice reminder at how much fun the original 2005 version can be, for despite its graphical limitations, the majority of the gameplay is being used as source material for the forthcoming title.
All things considered, while plenty of Star Wars fans cherish the initial Battlefront games from LucasArts, it’s safe to say that there are also loads of gamers anticipating the 2017 release as well, especially with DICE and Electronic Arts having learned what did and didn’t work in the 2015 edition. For instance, the companies will be adding a single-player campaign in the forthcoming sequel, and will offer all post-launch DLC for free. That said, though, fans can only hope that DICE’s take on the second entry in the franchise manages to surpass the 2005 version in more ways than one.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is slated to release on November 17, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
