The Star Wars Battlefront 2 PC download is the biggest, but not by a significant amount, at 22.8GB, while the PS4 is sitting at 15.3GB, and Xbox One at 13.2GB. All are fairly reasonable for a beta. Those struggling to find the beta should try searching for it through the console store.
Keep in mind that you’ll only be able to download if the main game has been pre-ordered. Those who want to play the beta without a pre-order will have to wait until this Friday, October 6, when the beta opens up to everyone. For a good look at what’s available for testers, EA and DICE released a beta trailer earlier this week.
When Star Wars Battlefront 2 premiered at E3 2017, it was a major focus for EA and served as the final segment for the company’s event. Audiences got their first look at multiplayer, but also the compelling single-player story mode that stars new faces from the Empire who are dealing with the aftermath of their defeat in Return of the Jedi. While the draw for many may be the multiplayer aspect, those who want to go solo will be pleased to know single-player isn’t an afterthought. The team is very much committed to providing a quality experience.
Once the game officially launches this November, players can expect a steady stream of new content in what the studio is calling post-launch seasons. While there are few details as to what this content will be, the studio did reveal that all post-launch maps will be absolutely free. It’s certainly different from the DLC model in the past game, where each expansion was priced at $14.99 each. Instead, Battlefront 2 will be implementing microtransations through a new loot crate system, which works in a similar fashion to other games that use this method.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 releases on November 17, 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
