The post begins by speaking directly to the beta testers, and noting their important role in the development process.

The post then goes into detail on the feedback received, starting with some of the most discussed topics in the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Beta. Specifically, the developer is reviewing the Specialist Infiltration ability, which has been viewed as slightly overpowered, and looking at giving First Order Flametroopers a boost in power.

On a grander scale, the Battlefront 2 team is discussing ways to keep players together as a team, so for launch there will be a new feature that rewards all players in a spawn wave. During the beta, there were few incentives to stick with squad mates, which is surprising given how much last year’s Battlefield 1 emphasized working together.

But a lot of the beta feedback revolved around crates and progression concerns. Crates are the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 version of loot boxes which contain items like weapons, attachments, credits, emotes, and more. Since some of the items can actually give a player a leg up in battle, many testers were concerned the game would turn into a pay-to-win affair. The post assures players that crates are being looked at carefully to avoid that issue, and that the team will work towards making the system feel fair to everyone.

In other Battlefront 2 news, it was recently revealed that Iden Versio won’t simply be the protagonist of the single player campaign, but will also be available in multiplayer. DICE and EA have put a lot of focus on the game’s single player mode after there were complains that the one in the first game was lacking.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set to launch on November 17, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
