The two writers in question are none other than Walt Williams, the writer responsible for the critically-acclaimed Spec Ops: The Line, and former IGN editor Mitch Dyer. The duo’s involvement was fleshed out during an interview with Glixel, where Star Wars: Battlefront 2 director Mark Thompson was quick to justify choosing both Williams and Dyer for the job.
The narrative present in Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is said to be set from the perspective of an Imperial soldier named Iden Versio in the 30 years following the explosion of the Death Star. It’s an interesting premise, and one that Disney felt warranted creating a brand new Star Wars novel, titled Star Wars Battlefront 2: Inferno Squad, to help fans get a little more background information on Versio.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 arrives for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 17, 2017.
