The Star Wars Battlefront 2 multiplayer beta will take place this fall on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Exact dates for the beta have not been announced by publisher EA but the company promises that those who have pre-ordered the game or plan to, will be able to start playing the beta “early.” Moreover, pre-orders also come with “instant access” to an “upgraded Epic Lightsaber Mastery Star Card for Yoda,” but only while stocks last.
Other content that will be available to those who pre-order is: “exclusive” Star Wars: The Last Jedi outfits for Kylo Ren and Rey, instant access to a a Star Wars: The Last Jedi Millennium Falcon complete with “updated sounds and appearance,” and instant access to six hero and starfighter epic Star Cards. These Star Cards are: Kylo Ren: Power Reach and Solid Freeze, Rey: Far Sight and Deep Mind, and Starfighters: Enhanced Auxiliary Power and First Order ship upgrade. EA also adds that these pre-order bonuses will be available regardless of which version players pre-order, including the deluxe edition of the game.
While many fans are delighted that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will feature a story campaign, something which was sorely missed in the first game, the game’s multiplayer is just as important. It’s tremendously exciting to fight alongside and against Imperial troopers as well as big-name characters from the Star Wars franchise, such as Kylo Ren and Rey.
EA plans on hyping up the multiplayer plenty between now and the game’s release in November, with the multiplayer reveal for the game set to include a 40-player battle. With months of teasing these bombastic, online fights against other players, the beta will be a great chance for fans to see what has improved and to see whether the game is just as impressive away from the glitz and glamor of E3.
It will also allow EA and the Star Wars Battlefront 2 development team to make any changes to multiplayer before the floodgates open. Fans have already asked for Star Wars Battlefront 2 to have better anti-cheat, citing huge problems with cheaters in the first game. It’s unclear whether or not this has already been addressed, but if not, cheating, and any other issues that crop up can be dealt with before the game’s global release.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is slated to release on November 17, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
