EA certainly knew to tease the fans with the Star Wars Battlefront 2 reveal, leaving it until the end of its E3 conference. However, once it was time for the big reveal, the company showed off 30 full minutes of gameplay to bring the hype levels up. Not only that, but the developer dropped an all-new multiplayer trailer for the game which fans can see below.
The trailer contains a mixture of cutscene and gameplay footage but it’s safe to say that the game looks just as gorgeous as the previous Battlefront, with more content to explore than ever before. Not only will the next game in the series have a huge multiplayer experience, it looks like the story mode is shaping up to be far more than an afterthought too.
Droids are also confirmed to be playable in the game, as Star Wars Battlefront 2 will feature content from all eras of the Star Wars universe. Other additions to the upcoming title include powerful characters such as Rey, Yoda, and Boba Fett who are sure to turn the tide of any battle. Battlefront 2 claims to have more than 3 times the content of its predecessor which means that long-term Star Wars fans aren’t likely to go wanting.
Just this morning leaked Battlefront 2 footage made its way to the web, with EA desperately trying to remove the content before the big reveal. The video consisted of multiplayer gameplay for the upcoming title featuring fan-favorite Darth Maul wreaking havoc in Naboo Palace, which is something that the official trailer was also kind enough to show off in graphic detail.
What’s more, the highly-requested space battles that were also absent from the 2015 title are confirmed to be back and looking better than ever, even if flying up into space from ground combat on the planet below is still too much to ask for. It seems that EA has been listening to its fans on many accounts, and we’ll just have to wait and see what consumers think, once players start getting their hands on some multiplayer action for themselves.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set to launch on November 17, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
