Dennis Brannvall, the design director for Star Wars Battlefront 2, went on Twitter to talk about possible content being added to the game’s Arcade Mode. The mode tasks players with tackling a variety of missions based on different characters and set pieces from the Star Wars universe.
A curious fan on Twitter asked Branvall, “Just a question. While the online community is enjoying the Jetpack event, what can the offline players expect to happen before the next season? As someone who can’t afford Playstation Plus, I just wanted a little clue, please.” Brannvall responded by saying, “We’re not ignoring our PvE audience! Arcade is doing really well, so of course we’re eager to make more content for it." While he didn’t say when the new content would be released, fans of the mode can be assured DICE is working on something.
Later, another fan Tweeted to Brannvall saying, “Please tell me there will soon be a clone wars only playlist. I rarely ever get the clone wars maps and when I do, I’m the clankers. I have to play as my clone brothers too!” The director responded with “Yes, coming,” but did not give a release window. So it seems fans of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars can look forward to having a playlist of maps based on the series at some point in the future, as well.
While EA has yet to officially announce anything regarding Star Wars Battlefront 2, chances are the studio will in the coming months. As of this writing, nothing has been confirmed, but with the game’s sales rebounding since its launch, EA and DICE are likely to make some sort of an announcement in the near future.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is currently available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
