While some of the Easter eggs are overt allusions to the films and its extended realm, the surprise in the video below refers to one of Star Wars – Episode IV: A New Hope’s smaller details and bloopers, so some fans might not catch it immediately. The clip is quite short, so there’s no need for spoilers, other than to say that it’s a quick cutscene setting up the Empire’s plans in Walker Assault. No matter if fans even understand its connection to the movies, those who give it a watch should at least get a chuckle out of the gag.

Of course, this isn’t Star Wars Battlefront’s first reference to the initial trilogy. As loads of fans are aware, the game itself contains plenty of characters from Episode IV through VI, including Emperor Palpatine, Princess Leia, and many more. Not to mention, the fun little pre-designed goof seen above pales in comparison to a flub that took place during the sci-fi shooter’s beta test, as one player’s performance ended in an epic fail with Luke Skywalker.

Although the aforementioned Easter egg is a neat addition to the title and shows that its developers are indeed fans of the movies, much like a Stormtrooper, Star Wars Battlefront hasn’t exactly been on point when it comes to hitting its target. As a lot of folks will attest, the game isn’t terrible overall, as it contains many satisfying multiplayer modes to make up for having no single player, but it is definitely unfocused for the most part.

Nevertheless, Star Wars Battlefront’s Season Pass is set to bring even more maps and features in the near future in hopes of keeping gamers engaged throughout next year, but even then it will be an uphill battle for DICE and Electronic Arts. On top of having lots of competitors with which to contend, the DLC package is saddled with a $50 price tag, making for one of the most expensive expansions ever offered, so the add-ons will need to be top-notch in order to warrant the cost.

Star Wars Battlefront is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
