The Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition includes the base game as well as the season pass which includes access to 16 brand new maps and extra goodies such as the Victory emote and Han Solo’s DL-44 blaster. The Ultimate Edition costs twice the price of the regular game too, so it’s not hard to see why those who’ve pre-ordered it are frustrated to be hit with error code “CE-34632-8” which stops them from playing the game.

The particular error says that players cannot play Battlefront without updating the game, though the error is reportedly showing up for players who have installed the day one patch already. It’s currently unclear whether this error code is only affecting Ultimate Edition pre-orders and pre-loads but reports do suggest that the issue only appears to be on PlayStation 4 consoles.

With Star Wars Battlefront players complaining from the wee hours of the morning, both EA and PlayStation support have already looked into it, thanking players for their patience while they investigate. EA has updated the game’s official website saying that “a fix has been deployed for this issue” and that if the game still isn’t working, then PS4 players should restart their consoles and then try and play the game again. PlayStation Support also offers this solution for Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition’s issues: go to [Settings] > [PlayStation™Network/Account Management] and select [Restore License]. If this doesn’t work then players should “try powering your system down fully, and reboot”.

While many Star Wars Battlefront players who’ve had difficulty playing the hotly requested title are happy that EA and PlayStation got on the case so quickly, others are worried that more issues could rear their ugly head – it’s only a few hours into launch day and so more bugs may crop up as more players get their hands on the game. Given that Sony is using Battlefront to show that the PS4 is the best console for shooting game fans, and the company has also released Star Wars themed PlayStation products (such as the Darth Vader console bundle) it will be looking to avoid as much controversy as possible, so Game Rant will update if any other issues are discovered.

Star Wars Battlefront is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
