The House of Mouse has already given fans a rescheduled date, although it may be disappointing to some. Star Wars Celebration will resume on August 18-21, 2022. It is unclear why 2021 is being skipped over, but it may simply be an overabundance of caution from Disney on behalf of Star Wars fans.

Disney has assured that any that already purchased tickets can be refunded so long as the process is completed by August 26th. Fans have the option of getting cash, a credit for Star Wars Celebration merch, or simply transferring their ticket over to the 2022 celebration. This last option comes with an exclusive Storm Trooper character pin.

The event-exclusive merchandise will be made available online for all to purchase, so it seems that some good has come from the cancellation. Although news such as this is always a bummer, it is better to be safe rather than sorry, and most have been understanding of Disney’s decision.

Star Wars Celebration is cancelled until 2022.
