Twitter user SGdrahman7 recently posted their version of The Mandalorian box art for Xbox Series X/S, which focuses on the titular hero from the Disney+ series. It shows the Mandalorian in shiny armor looking at the spine of the box that depicts the title in the same style as in the middle of the art. Like most games being developed for Xbox right now, SGdrahman7’s The Mandalorian box art features the familiar “optimized for Series X” badge right above the Xbox Game Studios and The Coalition logos. Though it hasn’t been announced, ZeniMax Online is reportedly working on a new Star Wars title and both ZeniMax and The Coalition are part of the Xbox Game Studios banner, which could add credibility to the fan box art.

The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake is in the works at Aspyr while Ubisoft is working on an open-world Star Wars game, and other games focused on George Lucas’ universe are coming out in the future. These Star Wars games are being made by various developers after EA lost exclusivity to the IP in gaming, which led to titles such as Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order while it was in effect. Though it hasn’t been confirmed by Xbox Game Studios, the potential Mandalorian game may follow the events of the first two seasons of the popular Disney+ series.

Given ZeniMax Online’s history of making MMOs with The Elder Scrolls Online, the studio may be more likely to make the Mandalorian MMO than The Coalition which is more experienced in cover-based shooters like Gears of War. Although some other Star Wars titles have been announced for release in the coming months, the one at Xbox Game Studios remains obscured by how early on in development it may be.

Considering Star Wars Day just came and went without the Mandalorian game being confirmed, there may not be much truth to the leak after all. A recent leak is what suggested the Mandalorian game will be an MMO, but Disney has only visited that part of the Star Wars universe through sixteen episodes, which may not offer enough material to create a full MMO. It’s currently unclear when Xbox Game Studios will reveal the Star Wars game they may be working on, but the mounting rumors suggest there may be something to show in the future.
