A few large beasts and Force Guardians appear before the AT-ST, but it’s likely that this could be the first fight that gives Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order players a lot of trouble. That’s mostly because all of the offensive lightsaber abilities don’t quite reach the part of the walker that needs to take damage. Don’t worry though, the fight is actually fairly simple once players start to follow a few simple patterns.

Note that some players may consider these hints a bit of a spoiler (like the full achievement list for Jedi Fallen Order). If you prefer to figure out how the fight works for yourself, then definitely stop reading here until after downing the first AT-ST walker.
First, it’s important to be able to identify the three different kind of attacks that the AT-ST walker will use. Based on which attack the AT-ST is using, players should respond in three different ways. Following these three rules will make it super easy to take down the walker, assuming players are able to keep some distance between themselves and the machine.
Right Side - Red Rocket
When the right side of the AT-ST walker’s head lights up red, it means the machine is getting ready to fire a rocket. The rocket detonates on impact and does a serious amount of damage. Players should wait for the rocket to fire and then use Cal’s roll ability to get out of the way. This attack cannot be deflected back at the AT-ST, so just get out of dodge.
Center - Blasters
When the center lights, the AT-ST is about to fire off a flurry of blaster shots. These can be deflected back at the machine to deal some damage, so players should use well timed blocks to send the blaster shots back at the AT-ST. This will only deal a small amount of damage, but is still worth doing.
Left Side - Blue Timed Grenades
This is where the bulk of the damage is going to come from. When the left side lights up, the AT-ST is going to fire off a handful of blue grenades in Cal’s direction. They won’t explode right away, so Cal needs to use Force Push to send them back in the AT-ST’s direction. This will deal a ton of damage to the machine and is how the fight is really won. Be careful not to get too close to the grenades, in case Force Push misses one and it ends up exploding near you. The grenades deal significant damage, so be careful with approaching them.
Like most fights in the game, this one is all about being patient and mastering the timing and patterns. Once players are able to easily identify the three different types of attacks, taking down future AT-STs should be no problem at all.
