Disney’s D23 exposition, their own house-owned and operated version of San Diego Comic-Con, finally returning in 2022, is all kinds of exciting for fans of the products pushed by the mega-conglomerate. And even more exciting than the debuts of new films and movies (like Pixar’s Inside Out 2) is seeing the who’s who of Tinseltown show up to promote their latest piece for the House of Mouse.

In recent red carpet interviews with both Variety and Deadline at the D23 expo, The Mandalorian’s Sackhoff dished on what she thought of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, talked about how long the series might run, and even opened up on which of her co-stars is the biggest drama queen on set. When asked how many seasons she’s been told the series will run for, she played coy. When the interviewer for Variety rephrased the question as to if it was the amount she thought it would be, she said yes, praising the creativity of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.
“The good thing with Dave and Jon is that they’re constantly expanding this world and I don’t think that Star Wars fans will be lacking for content anytime soon.” Presumably, she’s referring not only to her own expanding side of The Mandalorian section of the Star Wars televised universe but to all the other spinoffs the one series has made. This includes the as-yet-unreleased Ahsoka and a possible second chapter to the Book of Boba Fett, not to mention any other shows that might spring off of the money printing machine.
And which co-star is such a hot mess? Grogu, (the star formerly known as Baby Yoda) of course. “He’s such a diva,” Sackhoff says, to which the interviewer responds, “I knew it.” Sackhoff, continuing the bit, saying, “He’s got five guys and some ladies that are constantly following him, making sure that he’s okay and it’s like, ‘Where’s my team?’ You know, he’s just such a drama queen, but he is talented so we put up with it.”
Whether or not she’s referring to the cute gurgles he makes or his abilities to push back flames with the force and put Rancor monsters to sleep, she doesn’t specify. As Sackhoff says, “You have to do it. It’s his show, we’re all just in it.”
The Mandalorian season 3 is scheduled to drop in February of 2023.
