Instagram account EmpiRa Star Wars Fan Club managed to snatch up some choice shots of several actors in costume, presumably on their way to set to film their next scenes in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. The pictures notably feature a number of Imperial outfits, ranging from officers to regular stormtroopers. But one image, in particular, stands out because it features actress and Dragon Age: Inquisition star Varma in full Imperial officer garb.

This is the first indication fans have gotten regarding Varma’s character in Obi-Wan Kenobi. For some time, many have speculated that she might play Obi-Wan’s dear friend (and heavily implied love interest) Satine Kryze, even though she tragically died at the hands of Maul during the events of The Clone Wars TV show. But this image confirms that her character will definitely be on the side of the villains, even if her exact nature is still unknown. Sorry, romance fans. Looks like that one last goodbye between doomed lovers just isn’t meant to be.

The photos also appear to offer more shots of Ewan McGregor in costume as Obi-Wan Kenobi, though just like his previous leaked images, it’s more of a tease due to the black cloak covering his outfit. Another shot of an Imperial officer also looks remarkably like Grand Moff Tarkin, who could conceivably be a character in the series given the timeline (albeit hopefully with a slightly more evolved take on the CG used in Rogue One). Though it’s difficult to tell for sure since the actor is wearing a face mask.

Ever since the cast of Obi-Wan Kenobi was announced, fans have wondered not just about Varma’s role, but about a number of others. Disney has yet to confirm most of them, but based on this leak, it’s quite possible that a number of the new cast members will likely end up as fellow agents of the Empire. After all, the series is set after Episode III, during a time where Kenobi is in a self-imposed exile. So the possibility of more Imperials feels a bit more likely than some new allies for him to meet.

This is just another drop in the painfully slow stream of information coming out about the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and until the release date gets closer, it’s likely the only kind that fans will get for now. Still, knowing that Varma is playing an Imperial officer, particularly given the buzz around her casting, hints that the Empire will play a particularly hefty role in the story. That’s something, right?
