After Twitter bot PSN Releases leaked Star Wars Project Maverick, the developer of the bot Luciano Ciccariello posted the content ID for the game’s PlayStation Store listing. By using this ID, fans have been able to look at the database file which reveals more information about the new Star Wars game.

One of the biggest features confirmed by the file is that Star Wars Project Maverick will support five players using the Play Together feature which allows players to start a game from the Party menu. This means that Star Wars Project Maverick will have multiplayer. Star Wars Battlefront 2 has an enjoyable online multiplayer mode and fans would be excited to see how Star Wars Project Maverick can do better than that.
The ID for the game has the word “beta” in it which suggests that the listing is just for the beta version of the game and not the release version. EA did hold a beta test for Star Wars Battlefront 2 so it’s not surprising to see that the company also wants to give fans a way to play Star Wars Project Maverick before release. It also suggests that the game is close to release as beta tests aren’t typically offered so far from a game’s release date.
The database file also says that the game will not have PlayStation VR support. This will be important to fans as one of the most popular suggestions is that Star Wars Project Maverick will be a VR game. A report about EA’s Star Wars games had called Star Wars Project Maverick a smaller title and some thought that EA, which hasn’t done much with VR headsets, could be releasing this as a way to see what fans enjoy about VR gaming.
It’s unclear what Star Wars Project Maverick is. Disney, which owns Star Wars, has said that it would like more games like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, but that doesn’t mean that Star Wars Project Maverick has been developed to make the company happy.
There are rumors that Respawn Entertainment is developing Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 but it seems very unlikely that it is ready to put the game on the PlayStation Store. Fans will have to wait for more leaks about the game or for an official reveal.
Star Wars: Project Maverick is unofficially confirmed for PS4 and has no current release date.
