Following a crash landing on their home planet, the player is brought into the fold of a classic space-faring tale, meeting old favorite Star Wars characters like Yoda, C-3PO, and R2-D2. As well as the main story, there are other narratives for the player to explore in Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge Enhanced Edition, through the Azumel bartender, who can transport fans to take on the roles of Jedi and bounty hunters.

Announced at yesterday’s PlayStation State of Play, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge Enhanced Edition comes with a lot of new features taking advantage of the advanced technology in the PS VR2. From a statement provided by Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge Enhanced Edition’s developer ILMxLAB, players will benefit from eye-tracking cameras following their line of sight and advanced foveated rendering techniques will also improve the visual quality of the experience.
There are also reported improvements to audio in Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge Enhanced Edition, as well as some other features that rely on the PS VR2 Sense controllers. Like the DualSense controller that comes with the PS5, Sony’s new PS VR2 controllers will have reactive triggers and haptic feedback, responding to the player’s actions in Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge Enhanced Edition. While the release window is currently set to 2023 for Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge Enhanced Edition, ILMxLAB are not revealing any proper date or the pricing of the game until further notice.
This wasn’t the only title announced at yesterday’s State of Play presentation, and it also isn’t the only game coming to the PS VR2. While Sony are yet to solidify a release date for the PS VR2, with speculation pointing at an early 2023 launch, there are plenty of games to look forward to on the platform already. Alongside Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge Enhanced Edition, for those who enjoy sci-fi content, there is a VR title set in the Horizon universe as well, known as Horizon: Call of the Mountain.
