Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi is set to focus on shorts that explore the lives of Jedi from the prequel era. Six episodes will premiere in late October, and they will be split into two paths. The Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi trailer promised that some stories would follow the fall of Count Dooku as he becomes the Sith Lord Darth Tyrannus, while others will chronicle the early life of Ahsoka Tano, who goes on to become the Padawan of Anakin Skywalker before leaving the Jedi Order and going on to help found the Rebellion during the Era of the Empire.

Disney Plus and Lucasfilm released a poster for the series under the tagline, “Two stories of fate. One destiny.” The poster features the visages of a younger Ahsoka and Count Dooku, each facing a different direction as the poster is split by a lightsaber. Ahsoka’s side of the poster features Anakin, her mother Pav-ti carrying an infant Ahsoka, Mace Windu, Yaddle, the Inquisitor known as the Sixth Brother, and a mysterious Togrutan elder. Meanwhile, Count Dooku’s side of the poster features Bail Organa, Qui-Gon Jinn as a Padawan, a Clone Trooper who may be Rex, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka, Master Tera Sinube, and a slightly older, bearded version of himself. The series will contain primarily original stories, but will not be full-length, as each episode appears to be a short.
The events chronicled in Tales of the Jedi are some that fans have not yet seen before but have been hinted at prior. Ahsoka’s infancy is a storyline originally intended to be an arc in Star Wars: The Clone Wars before the series was cut short by the Disney acquisition. Her encounter with the Inquisitor known as the Sixth Brother has been seen before, as it was depicted in the 2016 novel, titled simply Ahsoka, written by E.K. Johnston.
The presence of Yaddle is interesting because the character has not yet had an official cause of death in canon. The character, who is of the same species as Yoda and Grogu, may finally get her canonical ending here. Some other mysteries may finally be solved. One thing is certain, though; with the presence of Ahsoka, the series will definitely involve her creator, Dave Filoni, heavily.
Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi premieres on Disney Plus on October 26, 2022.
