In the new The Old Republic story update, players will help Shae Vizla as she pursues Heta Kol, a rebel Mandalorian warlord and leader of the Hidden Chain splitter faction. In addition to these two Mandalorian powerhouses, players can expect to see familiar faces like Torian Cadera, Akaavi Spar, and Sa’har, as well as plenty of new faces.

Vizla’s campaign against Kol will bring players to Ruhnuk, a desolate planet located at the center of an electric nebula. A wasteland of dry, arid plateaus, this now-abandoned planet was once full of resources. This made it the perfect place for Kol and the Hidden Chain’s new base of operations–and the Mandalorians’ climactic confrontation in the MMO.

A new planet in Star Wars: The Old Republic means a new daily area where players can earn new rewards, achievements, and titles with daily and weekly reputation missions. Star Wars: The Old Republic is also making further improvements to its user interface and gearing process, both of which also got significant overhauls in Legacy of the Sith.

Lastly, this update brings with it sweeping changes to PvP. The Old Republic no longer distinguishes between Ranked and Unranked to keep queue times lower, and all SWTOR players, regardless of subscription status, can play PvP equally. Players can now queue solo or in groups for 4v4 or 8v8 matches, and can play on the new Onderon Palatial Ruins map. Additionally, the new PvP Rewards Track offers a new way for players to earn rewards for participating in PvP.

Star Wars: The Old Republic’s small, dedicated fanbase is eager to dive into the new patch. Vizla was featured in the very first cinematic for Star Wars: The Old Republic, so players are interested to see more of her. Many are curious how the story will play out if certain characters, such as Torian Cadera, did not survive previous chapters in a character’s story.

However, some players are concerned with how short and sparse recent The Old Republic content has been. Story chapters have gotten shorter, and delays between major patches have gotten longer as the game has gotten older. That said, “Showdown on Ruhnuk” took less time to develop than its last update. Players will have to journey to a galaxy far, far away and see how Patch 7.2 compares to its predecessors.
