Well the dreaded day has arrived, Blizzard has released its official System Requirements for StarCraft II. Take a deep breath and prepare yourself, because here they are:

Oof! Well, it’s over with. How does your computer fare, Ranters? The last time I upgraded was about a year ago and I’m sitting  fine with my video card and RAM, but my Duel Core 2.1Ghz is a bit under recommended settings. Let’s hope no Ranter goes unable to play come StarCraft II’s launch.

Recommended Specifications:

PC: Windows Vista/Windows 7

Dual Core 2.4Ghz Processor

2 GB RAM

512 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX or ATI Radeon HD 3870 or better

I have friend who bought an expensive laptop specifically for StarCraft II years ago. He was under the impression the game would be out a wee bit sooner than how it worked out. Perhaps the experience has left him cold towards StarCraft, but I will remind him it is time to upgrade again.

How does your rig measure up, Ranters? Are you good to go for StarCraft II’s release? Ready to help Jim Raynor save the universe?

StarCraft II will be released on July 27th for the PC and Mac, but if you want to purchase a digital copy you can start downloading right now.
