RELATED: Stardew Valley: Fair Guide
The first of two Spring events is the Egg Festival. On the 13th day of Spring, the townsfolk gather for the Stardew Valley equivalent of Easter. While players can take advantage of the socialization element of the festival, the main event is the Egg Hunt. Players can arrive in the plaza at any time between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the event lasting until 10 p.m.
Pre-Hunt Festivities
When arriving at the Egg Festival, the hunt will not begin right away. Instead, players will have time to walk around and socialize with the people of Pelican Town. Players will see that the plaza has been decorated with food tables and various colorful decorations to celebrate the colorful eggs people will be looking for.
Players can also visit a booth manned by Pierre nearby that has a collection of different items that can be purchased, with the most significant being Strawberry Seeds. The seeds can only be planted in the spring and take eight days to mature. They also continuously produce strawberries after initially maturing. Planting them by the 16th will allow players to harvest them twice before the summer. The full list of items is:
Lawn Flamingo (400 gold) Plush Bunny (2,000 gold) Strawberry Seeds (100 gold) Seasonal Plant (350 gold, two variants) Colorful Set (500 gold) Pastel Banner (1,000 gold) Decorative Pitchfork (1,000 gold)

As soon as the player is done socializing and shopping, they can speak with Mayor Lewis to start the Egg Hunt. It is important to note that once the hunt begins, players will no longer be able to talk with villagers or buy anything. Once the hunt is done, players will be immediately sent home. Players should get everything done prior to the start of the main event.
Finding The Eggs
The egg hunt rules are simple: players have 50 seconds to collect as many colored eggs as possible in order to win. There are a total of 27 eggs scattered around the main area of Pelican Town with none that are hidden beyond the town’s boundaries. The amount of eggs required does vary depending on how many players are participating. Those who are playing alone must get 9 eggs in the time allotted. Meanwhile, two players require 6 eggs, three players require 5 eggs, and four players require 4 eggs.
Winning the event for the first time will score the player a straw hat to add to their wardrobe. If players participate after winning once and happen to do it again, they will win 1,000 gold each time they do so. If players do not get the necessary amount of eggs when time runs out, the winner of the event will be Abigail. There are no retries with this event, so it’s either win or wait another year before giving it another shot.
