This means that players will be able to grow and harvest fruits in the game, and bananas will be the first fruit that players will receive in a future update. The decision of introducing bananas in Stardew Valley is a result of a Twitter poll that asked fans which specific fruit they want to see in the game. Barone also noted that mangoes were the runner-up, suggesting that this too may be included in the upcoming update. Other fruits that were included in the poll are avocados and passionfruit.

Interestingly enough, the decision to add fruits in Stardew Valley was made weeks after the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, where fruit picking is a popular activity. However, none of the fruits included in Barone’s poll can be found in New Horizons. Of course, Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, while often compared, are two different games. The former is focused on farm-life, while the latter is all about building a village on a deserted island.

Stardew Valley is out now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
