By chatting and giving the right gifts to someone, the player can eventually begin to date them and even marry their partner. Those interested in bold and athletic men should speak to Alex, who lives at 1 River Road. Learning his daily rituals and what he likes can put one in his good books for romantic possibilities.
Since Stardew Valley is a game all about gradual progression, the general vibe of the gameplay and story lend themselves well to dating simulation. After one gets married, things become cozier, though, one will have to interact with their spouse regularly, so be sure to pick someone who is interesting.
Alex’s Regular Schedule For Every Season
With every NPC villager having a different schedule, it can be tough to keep track of everyone’s comings and goings. Thankfully, Alex is a pretty predictable fellow and can often be found in or around his house at 1 River Road. Though, he also enjoys trips to the beach and to the Spa, so players who find themselves drawn to such locations will be well suited to interacting with Alex.

What Gifts Alex Loves, Likes, Dislikes, & Hates
Giving Alex gifts is the best way to win him over when trying to romance the muscle-bound gentleman. He’s a huge fan of protein-rich foods, so be sure to collect lots of meat-related ingredients to prepare him dishes that he’ll be sure to love.

Heart Events
As one grows closer and closer to Alex, different events can be triggered at various heart levels of one’s relationship with the brown-haired man. Be sure to seek them out to learn new things about this bachelor that few others in Pelican Town know.
Two Heart Event
During the summer, on a sunny day, visit the beach when Alex is there
Four Heart Event
Go into town between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM
Five Heart Event
Go into Alex’s house while he is there
Six Heart Event
Go into Alex’s house again while he is there
Eight Heart Event
During the summer, on a sunny day, visit the beach when Alex is there
Ten Heart Event
The player will receive a letter from Alex asking to meet up at the Stardrop Saloon, which, the player must do between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM
What Happens After You Marry Alex
To marry Alex, like with any other bachelor in the game, players will need to give him a Bouquet when their relationship level is at 8 hearts and will then have to give him a Mermaid Pendant sometime afterward to propose marriage while the relationship level is at 10 hearts.
After marriage, Alex will move into the farmhouse and set up their room next to the player’s bedroom. He will also put together a home gym behind the farmhouse where he can be found pumping iron on occasion.
Furthermore, when it is raining, he will sometimes give the player various gifts, such as a Survival Burger, a Dish o’ the Sea, a Fried Eel, a Crispy Bass, or a Baked Fish. Additionally, on days when he lounges around inside, he may make some delicious breakfast foods for the player, like an Omelet, Hashbrowns, or some Pancakes.
