Some of these items, though, can be a bit tricky to track down, especially in large quantities. The tables below provide a guide to all the game’s forage items by season, and in which areas they can be found. Locations are listed by the likelihood of finding the specific item there, from the highest chance to the lowest chance of that item spawning.

Year-Round

Several locations throughout Stardew Valley contain items that can be foraged year-round, either due to their environment (e.g., the Beach), or a static climate (e.g., Calico Desert). Such items and their locations are listed below:

Spring

Springtime foraging is particularly important in Year 1, as many players rely on it for income during the first few in-game weeks. Even in later years, though, these items can help boost profits and allow the player to cook certain recipes.

Summer

Summer typically has a heavier focus on farming than foraging, but these items are still worth picking up. If the player has a Seed Maker, they can even use their foraged Grapes to get plenty of free Grape Starter to plant in the fall.

Fall

Fall is one of the best seasons for foraging, as all of these items are plentiful in their respective locations. Furthermore, almost all can be used in handy cooking recipes, including Blackberry Cobbler, Plum Pudding, Roasted Hazelnuts, and more.

Winter

Winter can be a tough time for earning money, especially in the early game. Foraging, though, can prove quite lucrative during this time. What’s more, players can use their forage to craft Wild Seeds, and use each successive harvest to craft more and more seeds before shipping the products at the end of the season.
